Muscle Building From Home
  • Home
If you don't have a gym to go to or simply don't want to waste money on the sometimes expensive membership fees then there's plenty of alternatives to still get yourself bulked up from within your own home. I'm not saying it'll be easy, but it's definitely achievable. Building muscle at home will save you both time and money, two of the things we'd like most of in life. Instead of forking out fee's each week to stay a member at your local gym, why not invest in a few key bits of equipment for couple bucks and be able to keep that gear for the rest of your life. I know life gets busy at times and there'll be periods when you can't workout for a month or more but it'd be nice to be able to go get back into your fitness routine once things settle down again, rather than paying fee's when you're not even going to the gym. A lot of people find it chews up too much time getting to and from the gym as well.

The equipment I recommend you purchase is... A set of dumbbells with a different range of weight plates to allow you to increase or decrease the weight as needed. You can use these to workout just about every part of your body pretty thoroughly so this piece is absolutely essential to your workout routine and gaining that muscle you're looking for. I also recommend getting an adjustable bench press machine, doesn't matter if it's a cheap one they all do the same thing and will allow you to do proper chest workouts plus can be used for other exercises like shoulder press, tricep pushouts etc. By adjustable I mean one that can change the incline or decline angle of the back rest. It will also have the rack supports so you can buy yourself a barbell and use your weight plates on that too for plenty more exercises. A lot of these bench press machines will also have extensions where you can stick them at the bottom of the bench press to allow you to do quadricep push outs, great to workout the front muscles in your upper legs. Also get yourself a good sized medicine ball so you can use this as an alternate support system other than your bench press to workout your muscles slightly differently. Changing things up regularly will keep your muscles stimulated and growing. If you stick to the exact same workout routine with all the same exercises for more than 6 weeks the bodies normal reaction will be to plateau and you'll notice your gains start to drop off. This is because your body gets used to the exercises and doesn't find them a challenge anymore therefor decides not to grow anymore. So make sure you switch things up every 4-6 weeks to keep shocking your muscles into more growth. This equipment here will be plenty to get you started and have you gaining muscle right away, as long as you're working out hard of course and pushing the limits of your muscles so they're forced to grow.

Also remember that working out is only half the battle, you also need to make sure your diet is on par, so that will mean getting lots of protein into your system. A high protein diet is mandatory for consistent muscle gains. Plenty of meats, white meats like chicken breast, turkey, red meat like all sorts of steaks. Even minced meats but these often come with lots of fat so if you are going to consume minced meat make sure you get the leanest kind you can. Turkey mince is about the leanest type of mince you'll find. For optimum muscle gains you'll need to be taking in more calories than what your body needs to maintain its current weight. So if you're just starting out then it'll be fairly easy to increase your calorie intake, as any increase should help you see some muscle gains. Just make sure to be consistent with your high protein diet. You should be eating meats every day, plenty of milk. I recommend you go and get yourself a protein supplement as well from one of your local fitness stores as these are almost essential for the average person to be able to keep your protein levels nice and high and it's just great for making quick and easy to drink protein shakes.
